Children’s Day

Children’s Day

SDO celebrates the International Children’s Rights Day. Children aged 6 to 13 are invited to take part in this day of activities under the theme « Know Our Rights! » It is an ideal opportunity to put children in the spotlight and show that each one is unique and deserves respect, attention, love, and care. These little ones have fun in many ways, whether by participating in games or unleashing their creativity through puzzle and origami workshops. A special healthy snack, music, relevant video screenings, magic shows, activities, and games are all part of the program. This event allows children to reflect and distinguish between concepts such as needs and wants, rights and privileges. They learn that rights come with responsibilities. While they have the right to protection, they also have the duty not to harm others.

Children’s Day: Free Activities

November 20 is International Children’s Rights Day.(*) It is an opportunity to review the implementation of children’s rights in various countries and raise public awareness about the many injustices children face worldwide. It is an important day for Soleil des Orphelins (SDO) to assess the material and moral situation of the orphans it sponsors. It is also a special moment to spread the word to people around you about the SDO sponsorship program and encourage them to participate for the good cause of children in need. Help us celebrate International Children’s Day!

Together, we can take action now for better respect of Children’s Rights:

(*): Children’s Rights, Declaration of the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1959, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1989.
