A Corporate Matching Gift Program allows you to increase the impact of your personal contribution to Soleil des Orphelins (SDO). Many companies offer this benefit to their employees. Companies can match, double, triple, or even quadruple charitable donations made by their Canadian employees. By taking advantage of your company’s matching gift program, you could generate an additional donation equal to double or even triple your own contribution.

Who Offers a Donation Matching Program?*

Among Fortune 500 companies, 65% offer their employees a donation matching program, as do many Canadian employers. Among established Canadian companies with a large number of employees offering this program are:

• BMO Bank of Montreal
• Bell Canada Enterprises
• RBC Royal Bank, Sun Life Financial
• Thomson Reuters, Intuit… and many others

But industry leaders are not the only ones offering matching programs: millions of Canadians work for companies that support the community and are willing to double their employees’ contributions.

If your employer’s name is not on the list, check with your Human Resources department—they may have a matching gift policy.

How to Make a Matched Donation

Ask your employer to match your donation:

• Check if your company participates in a matching gift program.
• If so, the company will issue a donation matching yours, effectively doubling your contribution to SDO.
• Complete the matching gift form provided by your employer or use this link: https://causes.benevity.org/causes/124-818656514RR0001
• Each donor will receive a tax receipt corresponding to the amount of their donation.

If your employer does not yet participate in a matching gift program, encourage them to establish one to support their employees’ commitment to important causes.

Workplace Donation Campaigns

SDO is happy to receive donations through workplace campaigns. If you participate in United Way campaigns or if your employer has its own donation program or payroll deduction program for United Way, you can designate SDO as the recipient of the funds collected. This is an important way to help orphans in need.
